About Off The Eaten Path
Off The Eaten Path (OTEP) is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing the vibrant food culture and diverse culinary community in Halifax and beyond. Our mission is to highlight unique food businesses, share inspiring stories, and create engaging food experiences for our growing audience. We are seeking a passionate and well-organized Project Coordinator to join our team and help us elevate our programming, expand our reach, and connect with more food lovers.
Position Overview
As our Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing new events and programs’ plans and communicating with other organizations and municipal governments. You will develop
events and programs to enhance community activities and economy through future events, expand the reach of the OTEP, and connect with more event organizers/stakeholders in the local communities in Atlantic Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Event / Program Development:
- Develop an operational structure for new projects. Develop project plans, including venues, timeline, etc.
Communications:
- Communicate with the Design Coordinator to manage the new program and engage with local business owners and event organizers to develop an organization model of the program: Mobile Food Cart.
Community Engagement:
- Connect and meet with local organizations (e.g., farmers market) and local government for future Taste Asia in towns and communities in Nova Scotia to identify event opportunities in multiple locations.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Track information and communications with various community groups and identify the opportunities of events and programs.
- Keep documentation on communications by utilizing documentation tools.
Financial Planning:
- Identify future financial opportunities through new events and programming.
Skills & Qualification
This position is only open to candidates who have Canadian citizenship or a Permanent Residence of Canada as it is funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
Experience: : 1+ years in event and/or program management/organization
Technical Skills: Familiarity with essential tools to develop event/program plans and track communications, such as Google Document and Spreadsheets.
Communication Skills: Excellent in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with all stakeholders.
Writing Skills: Excellent in writing skills to develop documents for future events and programs.
Financial Skills: Ability to create estimated budgets and identify sources for organizing new events and programs.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small and passionate team.
