Position Summary
The Community Programs Coordinator supports the planning, development, and delivery of creative, cultural, educational, and community-based programs offered by The Wave Placemaking.
Working across Taste Asia Food & Culture Festival, Off The Eaten Path, food literacy initiatives, studio programming, workshops, and community events, this role helps bring ideas to life while ensuring programs are engaging, inclusive, and responsive to community interests.
This position is ideal for someone interested in community development, event planning, placemaking, arts and culture, food systems, education, or non-profit leadership.
Key Objectives

Responsibilities
Program Planning & Coordination
- Support the planning and delivery of workshops, events, and community initiatives
- Assist with program schedules, timelines, registrations, and logistics
- Coordinate communication with facilitators, instructors, artists, and community partners
- Help manage program resources and materials
Program Development & Research
- Research community interests, trends, and emerging opportunities
- Help generate new program ideas and concepts
- Support the development of food literacy, cultural, arts, and community-based programming
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and planning meetings
Community Engagement
- Connect with community members, partners, and participants
- Gather participant feedback and evaluate program outcomes
- Support outreach efforts to schools, community organizations, and local groups
- Help ensure programs are welcoming, accessible, and inclusive
Event & Workshop Support
- Assist with setup, delivery, and coordination of workshops and events
- Support facilitators and guest presenters
- Troubleshoot day-of-event needs
- Help document program outcomes and successes
